Jay T. Shulman, C.P.A., President

Jay's business acumen and technical knowledge combine to provide clients the guidance and planning invaluable in their endeavors to achieve success. His particular areas of expertise includes business evolution strategies, mergers and acquisitions, financing and investment banking, and tax planning for the closely held corporation, its shareholders/officers and individuals. Jay is frequently called upon by clients to evaluate and negotiate purchase and sale transactions, deal structuring, and formulate advantageous tax strategies, In keeping with his financial insight and creativity, Jay is the administrator of our financial services area, providing the plan design and strategies for our clients in the areas of personal finance, family conservation of wealth, and estate and retirement planning. He has received his accreditation in business valuation from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Jay has served as an advisor to the Board of Directors of The Princeton Review, Inc., (a NASDAQ listed company) a nationally franchised company currently doing business in 40 states and 7 countries, and the Trustees of the National Fire Sprinkler Association (a national trade association), as well as an advisor to the CEO's of numerous companies and individuals of entrepreneurial spirit and significant wealth.

Jay's career, after graduating Hofstra in 1973 with a B.B.A. in Accounting, began with Oppenheim Appel Dixon & Company, then the 12th largest accounting firm in the country (now merged into Grant Thornton). In 1977, he became a manager with a medium sized regional CPA firm with primary emphasis in audit, taxation and client service. Jay formed Shulman & Sugarman, CPA's, P.C. in 1979, the predecessor to J.T. Shulman & Company, P.C., established in 1985. He has participated in and met the Continuing Professional Education Requirements of the profession and is a member of both New York State and the AICPA. Jay is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, National Conference of CPA Practitioners, Long Island Association of Businessmen and has recently added an insurance license.

Daniel Sackowitz, C.P.A., Vice President

Dans's tenacity for technical accuracy evolved in the quality practice environment he experienced from the beginning of his accounting career in 1977. He joined the firm of J.T. Shulman & Company, P.C. in 1987, bringing his expertise in accounting financial standards, disclosures, technical and research qualifications and abilities. Commencing his partnership status in 1989, Dan assumed the responsibility for maintaining the quality control, review and technical support areas of the practice in both tax and GAAP reporting. He is certified in business valuations, and is responsible for conducting the audits of client's financial statements which are used for registration purposes with the Securities and Exchange Requirements of both New York State and the AICPA.

Dan is a 1976 graduate of Syracuse University with a B.S. in Accounting. He has also conducted seminars in auditing standards as a member of the Accounting and Auditing Procedure Committee of the Nassau Chapter of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants for which he received recognition of outstanding service.

Gregory Giannone, C.P.A., Vice President

Greg, with his enate creativity, has demonstrated the ability to support the business operation needs of a growth oriented company and adds significant value in the decision making process. It is with this quality that he has supported numerous clients in the development of their business plans to operate multiple business locations and facilities. He has supported both start-up and growth-oriented businesses by providing them with insightful guidance and sources of financing, computer development and support, and reality-based budgeting and forecasting. Greg's client background focuses primarily on retail trades, services and manufacturing, and includes foreign owned businesses and resident alien filings.

Greg is responsible for J.T. Shulman & Company, P.C.'s computer hardware and software technology, which enables him to effectively interface with client computer related needs. He is a professional advisor for all Quickbooks products and is knowledgeable in all operational aspects of Quickbooks.

Greg graduated from C.W. Post College in 1985 with a B.S. in Accounting. Prior to graduation he interned with the firm of Shulman and Sugarman, CPA's, P.C., and upon graduation, began his accounting career with J.T. Shulman & Company, P.C. Greg achieved partner status with the firm in 1995. He has participated in and met the Continuing Professional Education Requirements of both New York State and the AICPA.
